a cooperation between me and my camera

Technical Camera (studio)

with 3 comments

This might seem the most boring picture I’ve ever posted on this blog, but for me it’s really a satisfying result of a not so easy studio-exercise! First of all it took me 2 hours to make a good setup of subject-background-lightening… and then installing the camera also takes over a half our or so. A technical camera doesn’t work digital (unless you have 25000 euro to spend) , so it’s an analogue proces on a 4×5 inch (= 12x15cm) color dia.

The reason why this is still used by many photographers is it’s sharpness that still isn’t possible with digital camera’s (although 21 million pixels or ever more is starting to come close nowadays) To show the sharpness I selected a detail of the picture. this is just an ‘easy scan’ , you can even scan it with a better resolution than this one.
