Delhi Streetlife

with 41 comments

Back in Belgium after an incredible 5 week journey through Pakistan and India, finally i can post some “real” pictures! Let’s start with a series about the streetlife in Delhi. The city where I started en ended my trip has an amazing streetlife, because of poverty many people sleep, wash, eat, drink,… on the streets of Delhi. Much more pictures will follow the next days/weeks!

      • I saw your work in pakistan but it was not that much convincing.
That delhi street life was really the best. That depicted misery of life and showed real picture of this poor world.

  11. You don’t object if teachers and students use these pictures, with attribution, I presume? These should be a gold mine for geography teachers.

  22. Your images are haunting and thought-provking. My photos make me fell compassionate those people in living and suriving on the streets. I am amazing on how the street people of Dephi can surive and provide for themselves.

    • I consider Pakistan even more safe than India, people are just amazing, helpful and friendly. Just keep away from the “Problem area” like Swat Valley and Waziristan. North pakistan is wonderful, completely safe, and one of the most friendly people I’ve ever met, no worries… and enjoy your trip!

  25. With report after report of India’s much vaunted technology parks and rise of the middle class, it’s hard to reconcile them with the extreme poverty we see here. Thank you for shining some light into this tragedy. Do you have recommendations on how we can help here in the west?

  27. Dear Friend,
Your photos are really beautiful! Congrats! But I like to share with other friends that these photos convey only one side of the life in Delhi or in India. So please do not reach a conclusion after seeing ONLY these photos.

    • ofcourse this is only one side of Delhi/India, but walking around at 6 o’clock in the morning in the center of New Delhi, it has to be said that this is reality without even focussing on poverty …
